A dynamic stylist with an eye for detail. A 15 year, certified glam and special FX makeup artist. He has been behind the chair specializing in balayage, color melting, modern cuts and colors, and beautiful lived in styles for over a decade.
"It's all in the details!" He likes to provide not just another hair appointment, but a hair experience. Paying close attention to clients needs and hair goals, and providing professional, and exceptional service. His goal is for every client to leave feeling refreshed and satisfied. He proudly uses Paul Mitchell color and styling products, which are eco-friendly, not tested on animals, and vegan.

Joining us all the way from the great city of Boston, Marnie has worked in an upscale salon in the city's North End for over 3 years under a world-traveled stylists, learning numerous techniques along the way!
Marnie specializes in precision and corrective cutting, is Babe sew-in extension certified, as well as Keratin certified to keep your hair smooth and healthy. She has extensive experience with dark/brunette hair, but enjoys crafting both natural and bold blondes as well. According to Marnie, the first order of business is always getting to know the client:

"I believe your day-to-day routine shouldn't be altered to fit your hair needs, so I create a look that best suits your lifestyle. I enjoy educating my clients and helping them understand what their hair has, lacks, and/or needs - and will customize both a style and maintenance plan that works best for them."

A few fun facts about Marnie:

• I was a certified personal trainer through college and hair school!

Josh is currently not taking new clients at Koi Salon. He now works in Wilmington at Mirror Mirror Hair Studio. 225 S Water St , Suite C Wilmington NC.
Joshua, has been styling hair since 2008. A local to Eastern Carolina, Joshua was born and raised in Jacksonville. His love of a carefree, shoreside lifestyle is reflected in his work. He enjoys working with and enhancing the natural texture and color of hair, but also likes more avant-garde cutting and coloring. Corrective color and ombre hilighting are some of his favorite services to perform, but he also excels in straightening treatments, and other texturizing services. His repertoire ranges from young, trendy looks to more polished and professional styles.

Sarah a.k.a. Ministylist, is the life of the party here at Koi! Colleagues and clients alike always have FOMO whenever they hear her infectious laugh radiate throughout the salon, because who doesn't want to be in on the fun being had? A mommy of one, and a self-proclaimed "couch goblin" in real life, Sarah is coffee obsessed and a full on extrovert with zero volume control. She's the resident karaoke star, prefers smoked butterscotch over pumpkin spice, is a firm believe that pineapple does NOT go on pizza, and has been a Grey's Anatomy stan since day one!

Sarah has been a hair stylist since 2007 while living the military life, earning 3 cosmetology state licenses along the way. Throughout her career, she has invested in classes with some of the biggest names in the industry -- making her education a priority so she can provide the highest quality to her clients. Since her journey began here at KOI, she’s become a brand advocate for Olaplex and Trionics Hair Care, while traveling for hair shows to educate other stylists. She’s also teaches live educational videos for both Trionics Hair Care and Olaplex through her online platforms on Instagram and TikTok. Sarah specializes in dimensional color and low maintenance blondes, using the latest techniques and keeping the health of the hair her number one priority.

Her work has been featured on @trionicshaircare, @carolina.stylists, @reshave_undercut and @cosmoprofbeauty where she won hair of the day for one of her platinum makeovers!

Channel joined our Koi Family in the summer of 2023 and has been a blessing since day one! With an infectious smile, an abundance of joyous energy exuding from her, and over 20 years of experience -- Channel is the total package! Originally from Michigan but a Jacksonville transplant for the past 8 years, Channel is here for all your hair care needs! Specializing in ethnic hair, blowouts and styles, Channel is also your go-to for sew-ins, wigs, and weaves. 

Channel has also been training under some of the best barbers in town, and can deliver some killer fades and designs for the whole family! Channel has a love and passion for hair and you will never be disappointed after leaving her chair!

Stephanie joined the Koi Family in September of 2023, but has been doing hair since 2014. As a seasoned stylist, Stephanie is passionate about empowering women and believes the most rewarding part of the job is seeing the women in her chair leave more confident and loving the way they look! According to Stephanie, "I feel that it is important to keep up with the trends, but I also believe that YOU set the trend in whatever you feel most beautiful and confident in."

Stephanie specializes in color, loving those lived-in and high maintenance blondes, vivids and edgy styles, color corrections, and is great with walking clients through big transformations! She has experience with all types of color brands and techniques and takes into consideration the clients needs first and foremost. Stephanie also considers herself a safe space and ally for the LGBTQ+ community and welcomes ALL to her chair!

When she isn't behind the chair doing hair, you can find Stephanie hiking, painting, or fully immersing herself in nature where she is most inspired. Stephanie loves spending as much time with her daughter as possible, as well as with her three cats: Binx, Sage, and Nova.  

Dusti joined the Koi Family in February of 2024.

Raised in Charleston, West Virginia, I have always loved everything in the beauty industry. I specialize in balayage and blonding, and I am also certified in Donna Bella hand-tied extensions. My goal in this industry is to give my clients confidence that they may not have had before by giving them hair that they love. I pride myself in providing great services and creating friendships with all of my clients!

Hannah is a North Carolina native and dog mom of two huskies - Dakota and Zeus. She has been in the hair industry since 2020 and is talented beyond her years. Hannah specializes in highlights, color, and lived-in looks. When a client sits in her chair, Hannah says "I want my clients to leave feeling not only more confident in the look of their hair, but also confident in how to take care of their hair at home." Hannah's love for all things hair related is evident in her work and skills. 

Zoie has been part of the Koi Salon family since February of 2023, and has already shown that she has talent and skills beyond her years. Zoie is a graduate from Coastal Community College, located here in Jacksonville, and has been doing hair for over 3 years. Zoie is from a military-connected family and grew up in Stuttgart, Germany where she completed school and moved to NC to be closer to family, because "family is most important." She is also an avid animal lover who has 3 cats and 2 dogs who are her everything. Zoie loves blonding services and fashion colors and states "I love doing hair because there is nothing better than restoring a person's confidence and making them feel beautiful again."

Born in Long Island, New York, Victoria has been a North Carolina girl for 14 years now. She is a self-proclaimed beach lover and thrives in the summertime. Working in the hair industry for 3 years, Victoria loves lived-in colors, layered haircuts, and if you want vivids - she's your girl! Victoria says "my goal for clients it to create a comfortable, judgment-free environment where they can express themselves and feel absolutely beautiful when they walk out." 
Victoria is always looks for opportunities to challenge herself, to sharpen her current skills, and learn new ones in order to give her clients the best experience.

Amanda is one of our newest Koisters joining the Koi family -- but just because she is new to us doesn't mean she's new to hair! Coming from the state of Georgia, with her four beautiful children, Amanda has been doing hair since 2005. She is a blonde specialist who loves those lived-in looks but is also not afraid of those bright, bold blondes either! She worked years at SportsClips and can also provide some amazing fades for our men clientele as well.

With just over a year of experience, William specializes in edgy cuts, vivid colors, and bomb-ass perms. Raised in a military family, and making the adjustment to Jacksonville from good ole Okinawa, Japan, William considers himself the "resident gay" of the salon. He is determined to have you feeling your best and soaring with confidence upon leaving his chair. If you're looking for a stylist who brings all the good vibes and energy to every service, then look no further than William! Periodt.

Angelimar joined the Koi Family in 2024. We are excited to now be offering full esthetic services.
